Do you want to watch sport on free to air TV?

We can watch the World Cup and other sporting events like Wimbledon free on BBC and ITV because of how our TV system works but this situation is under threat – we could end up having to pay to watch sport on TV if subscription TV services get their way.

More than 18 million viewers watched England beat Tunisia on 18th June, more than watched Harry and Megan’s wedding.

Since 1992 we’ve only been able to watch premier league football by paying for it on Sky or BT Sport.

Amazon has bought the rights to the US Open tennis tournament in August this year.

Facebook has already made moves to get a foothold in live sports and Netflix and Apple are likely preparing themselves in the wings.

The BBC is guaranteed to broadcast Wimbledon for the next two years but after that nothing is guaranteed.
