VLV 2002 Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting

The 2002 Voice of the Listener & Viewer (VLV) Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting was presented during VLV’s 20th annual Spring Conference in London on Wednesday, 
30 April at 13.45pm.

The Awards, nominated and selected by listeners and viewers rather than professional peers, they were organised by VLV member Jill Gregory.  Now in their 12th year, the Awards was sponsored by The Voice of the Listener Trust.  Each of the winners were presented by VLV's Chairman Jocelyn Hay with an engraved candle holder kindly donated by Dartington Crystal.

Best News Radio Programme, 2002

Nick Vaughan-Barratt  & BBC Television Events Team for the Golden Jubilee Celebrations.

Recipient: David Tickthall, Executive Producer; Julie Heptonstall, Producer; Clare Popplewell, Producer.

Commenting: VLV Chairman Jocelyn Hay said: ’We look forward to the opportunity of meeting and expressing our thanks to these broadcasters and the teams behind them for the hours of information, education and pleasure they have given to millions of listeners and viewers over the past year.’
