The VLV has today announced the speakers for the VLV 34th Spring Conference taking place on Wednesday 26 April 2017 at the Geological Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London from 10.30 am to 4.00 pm.
The Annual VLV Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting2016 will take place at lunchtime during the conference, hosted by Sir Tony Robinson.
Damian Collins MP, chairman of the Commons Select Committee for Culture, Media and Sport and Fran Unsworth, Director BBC World Service Group and Deputy Director of News and Current Affairs, are keynote speakers.
Journalist and author Mathew d’Ancona will be participating in a session on Alternative Facts and Post Truth Broadcasting, joining a panel that includes Jane Martinson, Head of Media at The Guardian and chaired by Roger Bolton of BBC Radio 4's Feedback programme. Matthew's book on the post truth era will be published in early May.
Tony Close, Director of Content Standards, Licensing and Enforcementat Ofcomwill be discussing BBC regulation and accountability in the new Charter era, on a panel that includes Richard Ayre, shortly to be stepping down as a BBC Trustee.
Tim Suter, Perspective Associates and journalist and author Robin Lustig will chair sessions.
