VLV has responded to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport's consultation on proposals for the institution of a contestable fund to support delivery of Public Service Broadcasting content. While VLV welcomes the ambition to support better provision of public service content genres which are in decine, we have concerns about the feasiblity of this pilot. We are especially concerned that if the project continues beyond its pilot phase it should not be funded by licence fee revenue which could undermine the BBC's ability to deliver its mission and purposes. The full submission can be read here.
