Prize winners

Jon Snow presented the prizes to the winner and runner-up of the post-graduate winners for VLV's 2011 Student Essay Competition.

Winner: Anna Chapman from London College of Communications (prize accepted by Martin Shaw, Anna's tutor).

Runner-up: Amie Tsang from City University, London.

The winner received £400 from Channel 4 and both winner and runner-up received 4 weeks work experience from Films of Record.

The Voice of the Listener & Viewer (VLV) offered local people the opportunity to have their say on the future of local public service radio.  This is important at a time when there are threats to the coverage of local issues, community and specialist programming.

Admission was FREE.

Michael Barton, the first manager of BBC Radio Sheffield and also a member of The Voice of the Listener Trust.

Tim Smith, Acting Head of BBC Yorkshire.
