Scottish Group

 

VLV's Scottish Group has held its own conferences since 1991. Recent conference subjects have included broadcasting and democracy, broadcasting and devolution, broadcasting and the 2003 Communications Act, and the 2005 Government Green Paper on the future of the BBC. Scotland also has its own programme of visits. These have included the BBC, Scottish TV, Radio Clyde, The Radio Communications Agency, The Scottish Parliament and the Royal Museum of Scotland's 'Communicate' exhibition.

VLV's 2009 Scottish Conference - 'Visions of the Future: Scottish Broadcasting in the Digital Age'

Tuesday, 12 May 2009 at 2.00pm, The Netherbow Theatre (Scottish Storytelling Centre), Royal Mile, Edinburgh.

Speakers included: Jeremy Peat, BBC Trust for Scotland, Bobby Hain, Managing Director for Broadcasting & Regulatory Affairs, STV, Donald Campbell, Chief Executive, MG Alba, Alan Stewart, Ofcom (Scotland) and Dave Rushton, Institute of Local Television.


VLV's 2008 Scottish Conference  - Broadcasting, Scotland and the Future in association with the Scottish Broadcasting Commission, and the Universities of Stirling and Napier.

Thursday, 1st May 2008 2pm  Scottish Storytelling Centre, 45 High Street, Edinburgh. The keynote address was given by Blair Jenkins, Chair, Scottish Broadcasting Commission
