The Communications Bill:  Getting it Right!

VLV’s 19th  Autumn Conference

Lord Puttnam, Chair of the Joint Parliamentary Committee set up to scrutinize the draft Communications Bill gave keynote speeches at VLV’s 19th autumn conference in London on 28 November at 11.00am.  Lord Puttnam outlined the recommendations for improving the draft Bill made by his committee and took questions. 

The BBC focused in the afternoon: its future relationship with OFCOM and the launch in late October of the BBC/Crown Castle digital terrestrial television and radio service, Freeview. 

The speakers were David Levy, Deputy Director, BBC Public Policy, Barry Cox, Deputy Chair, Channel 4 and Chair of the Digital Stakeholders’ Group, with Professor Vincent Porter, University of Westminster, Professor Patrick Barwise, Director, Future Media Research Centre, London Business School and VLV Committee in the chair.
