VLV 2001 Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting

The 2001 Voice of the Listener and Viewer (VLV) Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting will be presented at VLV's Spring Conference on Thursday, 21st March 2002 at Hamilton House, Mabledon Place, Bloomsbury, London WC1 at 1345 hrs. 

The Awards will be presented by Michael Buerk, BBC News Broadcaster and radio presenter.  Each of the winners will receive an engraved crystal bowl kindly donated by Dartington Crystal.

The Awards, nominated and selected by listeners and viewers rather than professional peers, are sponsored by the Voice of the Listener Trust, VLV's charitable arm, and organised by VLV member Gillian Harvey.  The categories, winners and those who will receive the Awards on the day are:

Radio Programme or Series - Winner: Desert Island Discs = BBC Radio 4
Recipient: Miranda Birch, Producer

Recipient: Laura Parfitt, Editor of Something Understood & Kulwant Sidhu, Producer of The Gathering At the Ganges'.
